I am surprised this song hasn’t been covered more. Linda Ronstadt did a fabulous cover of it on “Get Closer.” There’s a few others, but not many.

The band, The Knickerbockers, are the cover boys for One-Hit-Wonders. From Bergenfield, New Jersey, they were a bar band that kicked around until they came up with this Beatles/Kinks knock-off. The rest, for them, is not history. That's the whole story, how they used their fifteen minutes of fame.

But even as a knock off, it’s a pretty good 2 minutes and thirty seconds of a pop song —the hardest thing in the world to write.
